Responsibilities:

This Specialist will provide day-to-day marketing and business development support to partners throughout the firm. Reporting to the Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager and working closely with the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, the MBD Specialist will collaborate closely with practice group chairs, firm attorneys, and other members of the MBD team to support all marketing & business development activities for the firm.

  • Create and produce marketing materials—including pitches, RFP responses, and presentations—and follow up with key attorneys.
  • Draft practice and industry group directory and award submissions for rankings in publications.
  • Maintain and track business development opportunities, provide support to individual attorneys and practice groups, and monitor progress.
  • Coordinate client events, including jointly-hosted initiatives, CLE seminars, networking events, etc.
  • Collaborate with MBD team members to curate content for distribution, including marketing materials, web content, attorney bios, practice descriptions, and firm achievements.
  • Conduct research, identify cross-selling opportunities, and capitalize on prospective business through current and potential clients.
  • Communicate regularly with attorneys, follow-up on opportunities, and promote internal knowledge sharing within the practice(s) and the broader MBD team.
  • Role model the use of the CRM tool for individual attorney and practice group business development.
  • Collaborate on firm-wide projects and initiatives in partnership with MBD leadership.
  • Contribute to department-wide initiatives to improve overall marketing and business development functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a marketing or business development role within a law firm.
  • Demonstrated background in effectively identifying opportunities for business development.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to define and prioritize goals and follow through to achieve results.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient in the use of a CRM tool.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate and solve problems. • Customer service-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and demonstrated effective project management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated use of appropriate marketing tactics.
  • Ability to work independently while also being able to take direction.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities within tight time constraints.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $105,000-$140,000 -- The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
  • This firm offers a comprehensive benefits package including Health Plans (PPO or EPO health plan), Dental Plan (PPO or DMO dental plan), Vision Plan, and more.
  • This is a hybrid role with the expectation of working 3 days in-office.
