Position Summary:

This position is within the Fisher BioServices business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The DMID Pharmacist on the government contract provides support and investigational agent distribution for government clients, DMID monitors the product/protocol/project from initiation through delivery, collaborating with customer on all pharmaceutical related matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Review clinical site orders, support clinical protocols, and calculate supply requirements.

Manage supply levels and expiration dates of products, interact with pharmaceutical manufacturers, connect with clinical sites, and participate in packaging and labeling of investigational agents.

Develop and revise SOPs to support operational activities.

Manage and approve investigational drug requests to ensure compliance.

Monitor the quantity and expiration date of supplies being issued.

Prepare documentation for international shipments and apply for USDA import permits when required.

Work with State Licensing Servicing vendor to acquire remaining state pharmacy distribution permits.

Review monitoring reports, pharmacy licensing, advise the project officer of clinical site issues, and maintain a comprehensive database of all pharmacy contract-related items.

Support the accurate shipping and distribution of investigational agents to clinical sites.

Check and review processed orders to ensure accuracy.

Investigate and resolve any customer complaints or deviations.

Attend COR meetings to provide updates on study protocols and project progress.

Purchase pharmaceuticals or vaccines to support clinical trials under IND through approved vendors. Ensure agents are not compromised.

Provide compounding solutions for future clinical trials and initiate product recalls as necessary.

Review Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) for clinical agents.

Establish drug requirements and supply needs for new protocols.

Craft drug labels based on country and regulatory requirements.

Review protocol revisions for inventory impact and update the Contracting Officer accordingly.

Develop packaging and labeling requirements to meet US and international standards.

Review batch records for accuracy and adherence to protocols.

Education/ Experience:
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Must hold a Maryland Pharmacy License (registered Pharmacist in the State of Maryland).
  • Requires 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical field, with a proven track record of success.

Certificates and/ or Licenses:

Requires a valid Maryland Pharmacy License.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Assist in managing operational staff in the absence of management, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to protocols.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Must use personal protective equipment and strictly adhere to safety protocols.

Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Able to work in walk-in freezers or refrigerators periodically.

Proficient in using a computer for up to 8 hours per day.

Comfortable working in laboratory and warehouse/repository environments.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $91,700.00-$145,200.00.
